Emily’s father Lance was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) earlier this year. Lance and his wife Sarah are involved with the Weald Theatre Group in West Sussex, and each year they are responsible for writing and running the local pantomime which plays to sold out audiences over a number of days.

The pantomime scheduled for January 2023 is their take on the classic Peter Pan, with Emily taking on the role of Peter. Lance had come up with some musical ideas for a song for just after Tinker Bell dies, but due to his condition was not able to record this as he normally would. Andy Parker has known Lance for over 35 years, and it was agreed that Andy would take these initial musical ideas and come up with the song that Emily would perform both in the studio and on the stage. ‘Believe’ is this song.
